Surely you’ve spotted this fuzzy fabric in your favorite classic movies from the 60’s and 70’s with a pair of bell bottoms and aviators. You’ve probably never even bothered to learn it’s name. It’s shearling dear! With faux fur being a constant go-to year after year for fall fashion, shearling is receiving a lot of attention this year. From the classic suede combo to vests, trench coats, and (my favorite) motorcycle jackets, shearling is a force to be reckoned with. It was not love at first sight for me but the vintage feel and cocky air this all black shearling moto jacket possessed made this a must-have! In the featured photo I paired my shearling jacket with a burgundy turtle neck, black wax denim, black riding boots, and a wool cat-eared cap to make things even more interesting. And for our timeless faux fur, I paired my vest with a ruffled blouse and belted the waist with a thrifted gold chain belt. By now we all know it’s nearly impossible to wear a faux fur vest wrong!

Try It!

1. Go Hollywood glam and pair a faux fur jacket with a faux fur beret! Play it simple with your choice of bottoms, after all, we want the faux fur to do all the (werk)ing.

2. Rock a tad of shearling in a shearling lined moto jacket with an oversized collar. Pair it with a v-neck, destroyed denim and edgy ankle boots.
