Floral print happens to be one of those prints people either love or hate. Some jokingly say it’s reminiscent of their grandmas old gowns or the infamous tapestry sofa in her living room. Others simply associate the print with being either too “girly’ or dainty. Contrary to these beliefs floral print can be classic, modern, bold or edgy. It’s all about the quantity, color and size of the print! In the featured look I am wearing a co-ord set (just a fancy term short for coordinate, a.k.a. a matching two-piece set) with an abstract floral print. The black leather blazer and knee high pumps broke up the pattern and created an edgy look! I accessorized this outfit with a red lip and clutch.

This year was the launch of my first free makeover project! The name of it is New You for the New Year. Basically it’s a project I intend on doing every December where people compete to win a complete makeover including hair, makeup, and of course an outfit styled by me. The purpose of this project is to give back during the season of giving and to network and promote other successful and growing businesses. Charity and Unity! This year’s winner is the beautiful Latifah. For her look I created a classic all black look with mid-rise slacks and a cross front top. The blank canvas allowed her floral printed, gold studded pumps to steal the show. Her outfit was accessorized with a matching gold and black statement necklace. Floral printed pumps are a great way to incorporate floral print in your wardrobe in a subtle way.

Look out for next years makeover! #NYNY16
