I must say that I looooove a good statement piece! The best part about a statement piece is that it does all the work for you. Creating a stylish and polished look couldn’t be easier. If I had to pick my top 3 items to purchase as statement pieces I would choose outerwear, shoes and dresses. Grabbing eye catching pieces in these categories will take your style game up another level. For example, visualize a pair of high waist skinny jeans and a white v-neck. Sounds like a very basic outfit but imagine it paired with a striped sequin blazer or just a pair of magenta crushed velvet pumps! I mean at this point you’re sending two drastically different messages!
Custom pieces are a great investment in statement fashion. In the look below I am wearing an undeniably fabulous jacket by Fashion Designer, JoDeanah Noble from her Jo David collection. The attention to detail, texture and contrast of patterns are beautiful. I paired this jacket with a velvet striped romper and lace up pumps in black to allow the jacket to be the main focus. This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite looks this year!
For this shoot the photographer and I went for a paparazzi concept and I am sooo happy with how it turned out! I had never really done a night shoot before and had a hard time verbalizing my vision but Mike nailed it. Let me know what you all think! (=
